Brad's 26th Birthday!

Yesterday was Brad's 26th birthday! Our neighbors made an awesome dinner but I can't remember what it was called. haha It was tasty! We had all our neighbors together except for the Udalls because of their recent addition to their family but they did leave a present for Brad on the door. It was taped with princess tape because they had ran out of normal tape! It was very cute!

I made Brad's favorite cake which is funfetti but this time he wanted CHOCOLATE icing...I guess I have rubbed off on him a little bit. haha. Geordan and I got Sponge Bob party hats and the party favors that you blow...I don't know what you even call what I am talking about but anyways just look at the pictures. :)

Brad got a new phone for his birthday which was very appreciated not only by him but everyone he texts too! His number 2 button didn't work so he couldn't use the letters A,B, or C when he text. I would get some texts that would read like this: "Jump your hert out e" Translation: Jump your heart out Babe! Another one: "Let's hve m n heese for dinner tonight" Translation: Let's have mac and cheese tonight. The best one that I laughed at for awhile was when I was headed home from a track meet and Brad would text me saying, "r u lose yet? I love you." haha The real translation is "Are you CLOSE yet? I love you! hahahahaha It adds adventure to my life but I am extremely grateful I don't have to translate Brad text language anymore! haha

Brad also got a whole case of BROWNIES from his mom for his birthday! The story behind this one is that Brad and I would go to his parents' house on Sundays and have dinner and what not. Every time before we would leave, Brad would run downstairs to steal a box of brownies from his parents food storage! Debbie would say," Brad, quit stealing my brownies!" haha He never stopped till last year for a wedding gift we got a whole case of brownies from her!! We have since ran out from then so Brad's birthday present was perfect. On a side note, we don't usually eat the whole box of brownies ourselves...we have made it a tradition to bake brownies and watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition on most of our Sundays and then share them with friends or neighbors. It seems to bring lots of smiles so it's fun. Well enjoy the pictures!! We love you all!

Just Today..

Dinner last night we had our neighbor's homemade baked fried chicken with mashed potatoes, green beans, and honey dew melon. It was good.

Yesterday was a VERY warm day here in Orem so I assumed that it would be an AMAZING day for a track meet in Weber but to my surprise, in Ogden, it was FREEZING and VERY WINDY!! Not good weather elements for a pole vaulter. There were 16 girl vaulters including me and my teammate Melissa and out of all of us only THREE girls heighted!! That tells you how RIDICULOUS this meet was. I actually might have feared for my life at this meet...seriously. It was so bad that the pole wasn't steady when running down the runway not to mention only a select few of us even made it off the ground! Anyways in short, it was a sucky meet.

Today, I woke up to check the travel list for conference championships. I was ranked 7th in pole vault and my teammate 6th. Neither one of us made it on the travel list. I was ok with it...not happy...but ok, but my teammate Melissa was NOT happy. This was her last season of track so it took a toll on her...she just got her nitch back and everything so it was kind of devastating. We have been through our ups and downs together, but all in all I can say I have an amazingly talented teammate and friend. We both did our best during the season and I am proud of that. I have come back from having ACL surgery in one year and broken all my personal records in my events. I reached 9 feet 6 inches in pole vault and 15 feet 7.5 inches in long jump. I also can do power cleans that weight as much as I do in weight lifting and am stronger than I ever have been before. I feel great. I feel accomplished. I thank God for giving me another chance at a unique opportunity to be on a college track team and for all the talents He has given me.

For dinner, it was my turn to cook. I made my daddy's cheesy spaghetti recipe with french garlic bread. It turned out pretty good and the neighbors seemed to like it. While making the bread, I cut my finger! I was doing too many things at once haha. Then I found out that one of our neighbors were going to the hospital to be induced to have their baby!! She is due with her baby boy on May 18th so it's not too early. It was funny watching her husband run around with his head cut off and trying to figure everything out...I can only imagine what it will be like when that happens to me and Brad (If we are blessed with kids). Hopefully we will be somewhat ready when that time comes. haha

I waited for Brad all day today cause I always miss him when he is at work...I feel bad cause he works SO HARD and DILIGENTLY...he deserves to be able to relax and I wish I could ease his burden a little bit. I am so grateful for him and for all he does. Well, kind of a lot to say, but I am going to go eat some brownies with my husband!!

SUNSHINY DAY!!!

So Brad and I have the coolest neighbors in our 4 plex. We are all starting a garden and we are so EXCITED to be able to have fresh vegetables and fruits!! Brad's sister Melanie is going to teach me how to make salsa and to can them...or jar them or whatever! haha The salsa she makes is sooo good!

Another reason why are neighbors are awesome is that one couple decided that each of us could make dinner for the 4 plex once a week. So an example of how this works is this: Couple 1 cooks dinner for 3 other couples including themselves on Tuesday, while couple 2 would cook dinner on Wednesday and so on. It's great because with only two people in your family you always have leftovers so you actually save money and time! It's a win win situation. We just started this yesterday. Our neighbors cooked roast with cooked carrots and potatoes! It was yummy! I'll let you know what we get for dinner tonight from our other neighbors!!

This morning we woke and all Brad would say was "Baby, baby...the sun is out!! Time to get up!". We were so HAPPY to see the SUN!! We decided to go on a walk before Brad had to go to work. I have a track meet today so I will be pole vaulting at 5:30 this evening! It's called a "Twilite" meet which as you could figure out means it's an evening meet. I think it will be fun and it's the last regular season meet so I'm going to have fun no matter what! oh just so you know, the sweatshirt that Brad is wearing in the picture is actually mine but it is so HUGE that he wears it more than I do haha! Looks good on him!

We are starting a Blog!!

So I have given in and decided to start a blog to keep friends and family updated on our new life together. I will probably add our wedding pictures so that all of you can see and share some thoughts of our wedding day. Here is one for now. haha You have to wait till I get more free time for more.

So a little bit about us in our present day lives is that we are both in college at Utah Valley University pursuing our Bachelor's degrees. Brad will graduate in December 2010 in Accounting but walk in the Spring of 2011 with me graduating with a degree in exercise science. I am apart of the UVU Track & Field Team and love it! Brad is very supportive of me which I am EXTREMELY grateful for!! We can't wait for this summer to be able to spend time with each other and have new and exciting adventures as "still" newlyweds!! haha We love each other and love our supportive families and friends!
